Abstract: The aim of this research study is to identify the factors affecting work life balance ofemployees working in base hospitals in Ampara district. For this study purpose,researcher selected the two base hospitals in Ampara district namely Ashraf MemorialHospital, Kalmunai and Base hospital, Nintavur. The base hospitals play a major role jn wellbeing of the nation’s people and country’s economy as well. ThereforeEmployees have huge responsibility toward the people of the nation and country. Aswell as the hospitals and country also have the huge contribution towards the wellbeingof this high positioned employees.When the employees are in a way in which they can balance their both personal andprofessional life, then they will be happier and motivated in fulfilling their bothindividual and organizational goals. Therefore this research is important to bothemployees in high position who are working in base hospitals in Ampara district andfor the base hospitals as well.‘he alternative hypothesis were developed to achieve the research objectives. Thetarget population consisted 341 employees from two base hospitals in Ampara district.from that population researcher selected 109 employees as sample to conduct thesurvey by using convenience and purposive sampling method. The data were collected_by using questionnaire method by including 49 close ended questions with demographicprofile of the respondents. The questions were developed based on the 5 point Likertscale.‘The Rand P values are the major determinant to confirm whether the expected‘relationship between independent and dependent variables were achieved or not.According to the data analysis, all the selected factors have the positive relationshipwith work life balance. Therefore all alternative hypothesis were accepted and nullhypothesis were rejected.The findings and conclusions indicated that when the both employees and hospitalsconsidered the work life balance, it will be useful to the achievement of every individualand organizational satisfaction and wellbeing which will in turn increase the desiredlevel of good life. As well from suggestions, the future researcher can come out withthe new innovative results from the research area. At last from recommendations bothemployees and hospitals get the idea regarding the betterment of WLB.
