In Sri Lanka, an increasing number of rice production technologies and&#13;
management techniques have been introduced. Despite the introduction of the rice&#13;
production technologies, rice production not reached a required level. This study&#13;
therefore analysed factors associated with adoption of improved rice production&#13;
technologies and the role of government in this regard. Random sampling technique was&#13;
used in selecting one hundred and seventy-three (173) rice producers from Eastern&#13;
province of Sri Lanka. Data were collected with the aid of a structured questionnaire,&#13;
and interview guide and analysed using descriptive statistics with correlation and&#13;
regression. The result obtained shows that 21% of government role explains in&#13;
institutional supports, economic as well as political policies of the government and law&#13;
enactment and enhancement. Further, 22% of government role impacted towards&#13;
technology components such as technoware, humanware, orgaware and infoware&#13;
adoptions. These key factors need to be taken into consideration when expanded program&#13;
on technology components adoption is to be considered.

The paper presents the factors influencing the adoption of cloud&#13;
computing in SMEs. ICT provides potential to SMEs because it seeks an&#13;
innovative way to explore their business globally. To contact this research,&#13;
eastern region’s 50 SMEs were selected and categorized into Small, Medium&#13;
and large according to their capital intensity, turn over and number of&#13;
employees. All together 13 small enterprises, 17 medium enterprises and 20&#13;
large organizations were examined to arrive the conclusions. Four variables&#13;
were selected from the Technology–Organization–Environment (TOE)&#13;
Framework such as firm size, top management support, security concern and&#13;
technology readiness. Data were collected through the questionnaire and&#13;
direct discussion. The finding shows that there is a positive relationship among&#13;
the variables and willingness to adopt the cloud computing in SMEs. The&#13;
significant impact was identified to adopt the cloud computing is top&#13;
management support and technology

The aims of the study is to focus the impact of social media among the&#13;
university students. The research was contacted based on the students of South Eastern&#13;
University of Sri Lanka. The students were selected by using stratified random&#13;
sampling method. The Questionnaires were issued for the data collection and which&#13;
data analyzed by the descriptive and correlation method. The result exposed social&#13;
media impact the students in many ways. Among the selected media, the facebook is&#13;
highly engage with the students and it is positively impact in their academic&#13;
performance and increase their skills. They use media for various purpose within that&#13;
they use to collect the notes, do researches and finding the jobs. From this they are&#13;
finding some innovative ideas, get contact with high professionals and sharing their&#13;
opinions freely. These things make them higher skillful person in their career. These&#13;
changes will lead to them to become pioneer in the society.
