However, it is essential that conflicts are resolved through an efficient process. In this regard, based on the five conflict resolution steps recommended by the American Management Association, the study aimed at analysing the Islamic guidelines on conflict resolution through its basic sources and historical evidence. The major finding reveals that Islam presents an avid guidance process for successfully dealing with contradictions and obtaining proper solutions. B. Islam explicitly emphasizes the post-divorce maintenance for divorced women. Nevertheless, the MMDA (Muslim Marriage and Divorce Act) does not have any provision to provide the post-divorce maintenance. Consequently, the Qāḍīs face difficulties in defining the period and quantity of divorced women’s maintenance. Therefore, the women activists in Sri Lanka under the patronage of the MWRAF (Muslim Women Research and Action Forum) lobby for enacting the provision of post-divorce maintenance (mutʿah) in section 97 of the MMDA to be provided to the divorced wife whether the divorce is initiated by the husband or wife if there is no marital fault on the wife. Hence, this study aims to analyse the demand of the women activists in Sri Lanka drawing on the secondary data such as the Qur’an, the Hadith, the literatures of the prominent jurists and the books written by the women activists in Sri Lanka. The findings of this study reveal that the post-divorce maintenance is a marital right of women emphasized by the Holy texts. Accordingly, this study recommends the relevant authorities to enact the post-divorce maintenance in the MMDA. Through language activities, teachers can identify and develop the language abilities of students, thus linking and deepening the information, skills and tendencies learned by students. In addition, these language activities help the learner to prepare for the public life that awaits them outside the walls of the school. Hence, this study aims to explore the teachers’ efficacy in employing language activities in teaching Arabic to improve the level of students at the Southeastern University of Sri Lanka. This study uses an analytical descriptive approach, with a closed questionnaire given to teachers in the Department of Arabic Language at the Southeastern University of Sri Lanka, as a closed questionnaire was distributed randomly to 100 male and female students studying in the second, third and fourth years in the Department of Arabic Language at the Southeastern University of Sri Lanka. Story is a literary prose that narrates events; either real or fictional. It is a vehicle of messages and lessons for people to learn from. Recently, different types of stories have been transformed into a performance as a drama by bringing to life actions played by the characters in the stories on stage or cinema or film for people to have a practical or illustrative feel of such stories. Quranic stories are not exceptional in this regard. Among the Quranic stories that have witnessed this modern development is story of Prophet Yusuf. It is, therefore, the interest of this paper to investigate the dramatic aesthetic techniques in the narration of story of the Prophet Yusuf. The study adopts descriptive and analytical method of research to provide answers to some emerging questions such as; what is a story and what is perception on stories in the Qur’an? What is drama and what are its elements? To what extent the Quranic storiesin conformity with the theory of modern drama. To what extent does the story of Prophet Yusuf contains dramatic elements and techniques? The findings reveal among other things, that despite that Qur’an is a book of religion, it comprises many literary and linguistic genres that are worth of scholarly inquiries. 2023-03-31T00:00:00Z
