<title>An analysis of the effects of Norway-led multilateral intervention on the course and duration of the civil war in Sri Lanka</title>
<link>http://ir.lib.seu.ac.lk/handle/123456789/989</link>
<description>An analysis of the effects of Norway-led multilateral intervention on the course and duration of the civil war in Sri Lanka
Ihjas, M.M; Ranjith Dickwella, W.K
Over the recent past, there has been an increasing importance of managing civil conflicts&#13;
with the involvement of international actors such as individual states, regional and international&#13;
multilateral organizations (Regan 2002).In Sri Lanka, unprecedently, there had been a close&#13;
international involvement in the peace process right from its onset in 2002 with the proclaimed&#13;
attempt of finding political solution to the decades-long civil war between government of Sri&#13;
Lanka(GoSL) and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Ealam(LTTE). In this backdrop, this paper&#13;
attempts to examine systematically the potential effects of Norway-led multilateral intervention&#13;
on the course and duration of the civil war in Sri Lanka by using qualitative analysis based&#13;
on major empirical argumentation of the scholarship of effects of external intervention in&#13;
civil war situation. Results of the analysis suggest dichotomous findings that while supporting&#13;
the empirical argument casts skepticism over the adequate treatment of factors that influence&#13;
the outcome of intervention by the empirical studies.

<title>Explore repercussion of role models on entrepreneurial intention</title>

<description>Explore repercussion of role models on entrepreneurial intention
Pretheeba, P; Ponmani, R; Annapoorani, R
A decision to start a business is persuaded not only by individual characteristics but also&#13;
through socialization. Inspiration an individual had via family, school, peers, mass media,&#13;
public opinion, volunteer groups and spirituality play an imperative role in their career&#13;
decision. However there is dearth of studies on influence of role models in mounting&#13;
entrepreneurial inclination especially among students in South-Asian perspective. An attempt&#13;
has been made to present a detailed empirical reconnaissance on effect of role models in&#13;
creating entrepreneurial intentions among postgraduate students in India. The study employs&#13;
the Ajzen’s theory of planned behaviour, in which intentions are regarded as upshots of attitudes,&#13;
subjective norms and perceived behavioural control. Data were compiled via questionnaire&#13;
survey from 188 post-graduate students from science and non-science degree from a recognized&#13;
university in Tamilnadu, India. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) was worked-out to&#13;
scrutinize the influence of role models on science and non-science postgraduate students’&#13;
entrepreneurial intention and the antecedents of entrepreneurial intention. The outcome of&#13;
the survey divulged that there is a significant relationship between the role models and level&#13;
attitude, perceived behavioural control and subjective norms towards entrepreneurial activity.

<title>NRI sham marriages : a socio - legal problem in India</title>

<description>NRI sham marriages : a socio - legal problem in India
Amit, Kashyap; Shashi Bala, Kashyap
Marriage as a social institution is losing its original concept and the legislative law as well as&#13;
the courts are aware of this social upheaval. Just as drug abuse and attacks on internal&#13;
security are external criminal threats to Indian society, matrimonial discord and changing&#13;
matrimonial ethos are internal destabilizing factors in Hindu civil society. Legislative law&#13;
and court procedures have a significant role to play in strengthening and streamlining the&#13;
most important social institution of marriage. Thus, marriage laws and other measures for&#13;
the welfare of women have become the focus of attention of the Indian legislature as well as&#13;
Courts at all levels.
