<title>Evaluating the effectiveness of homomorphic encryption in big data: a descriptive and diagnostic analysis</title>

<description>Evaluating the effectiveness of homomorphic encryption in big data: a descriptive and diagnostic analysis
Jayaweera, W. C. K.; Fathima Shafana, A. R.
The ever-increasing volume of data generated &#13;
from various sources, including the Internet of &#13;
Things (IoT) and digital channels, presents a &#13;
significant challenge for organizations. This rapid &#13;
growth often necessitates offloading data analysis &#13;
to the cloud due to limitations on local server &#13;
capacity. However, security concerns arise when &#13;
analyzing sensitive data in the cloud environment. &#13;
Traditional encryption methods, while effective in &#13;
protecting data at rest, require decryption prior to &#13;
analysis, &#13;
potentially &#13;
exposing &#13;
sensitive &#13;
information. On the other hand, Homomorphic &#13;
Encryption (HE) is gaining popularity as it – &#13;
offers a solution by enabling computations to be &#13;
performed directly on encrypted data. This paper &#13;
investigates the effectiveness of homomorphic &#13;
encryption on big data through descriptive and &#13;
diagnostic analyses. Result suggest that this &#13;
approach is better in terms of execution time and &#13;
is particularly well-suited for big data analytics &#13;
due to its inherent scalability.

<title>The study of gestalt and cognitive psychological theory influences the creation of user interfaces and user experiences</title>
<link>http://ir.lib.seu.ac.lk/handle/123456789/7344</link>
<description>The study of gestalt and cognitive psychological theory influences the creation of user interfaces and user experiences
Bandara, L. A. R. P. M. S.; Kalith, M.
In &#13;
the rapidly advancing realm of digital &#13;
technology, the imperative of creating innovative &#13;
and user-centric interfaces cannot be overstated. &#13;
This research undertakes a comprehensive &#13;
exploration of Human-Computer Interaction &#13;
(HCI), with a specific focus on harnessing the &#13;
insights derived from gestalt and cognitive &#13;
psychological theories to redefine the art of user &#13;
interface (UI) design and elevate user experiences &#13;
to new heights. One of the pressing challenges in &#13;
contemporary digital design lies in the unsettling &#13;
uniformity that characterizes many UIs. The &#13;
research methodology comprises four distinct &#13;
phases. The initial phase involves the meticulous &#13;
crafting of an ideal UI prototype for an e&#13;
commerce platform. The second phase entails an &#13;
exhaustive review and synthesis of UI design &#13;
theories grounded in Gestalt and Cognitive &#13;
psychology. The third phase is marked by the &#13;
assimilation of these theories into the UI design &#13;
process. Finally, the fourth phase involves the &#13;
integration of user feedback, a critical step in &#13;
validating and comparing the ideal UI prototype &#13;
against the newly developed UIs infused with &#13;
psychological principles. In conclusion, this &#13;
research underscores the vital importance of &#13;
transcending the ordinary in UI design. By &#13;
harnessing the potential of Gestalt and Cognitive &#13;
psychological theories, we aspire to dismantle the &#13;
shackles of design uniformity, providing users &#13;
with interfaces that are not just personalized but &#13;
also harmonized with the intricacies of human &#13;
cognition. In this pursuit, we anticipate a &#13;
paradigm shift in HCI, where engagement and &#13;
user-centricity &#13;
reign &#13;
ultimately &#13;
elevating user satisfaction, productivity, and the &#13;
overall quality of the digital experience.

<title>Design and fabrication of a solar-powered electric bike</title>
<link>http://ir.lib.seu.ac.lk/handle/123456789/7343</link>
<description>Design and fabrication of a solar-powered electric bike
Ranasinghe, R. A. T. D.; Wijayarama, V. J. S.; Sahib, S. M.; Kumara, W. G. C. W.; Muzathik, A. M.
Electric bikes have experienced significant growth &#13;
due to several factors, including price reductions &#13;
and increased climate and environmental &#13;
awareness. This trend presents a promising &#13;
solution for replacing fossil fuels, with batteries &#13;
emerging as a new power source. However, &#13;
limitations such as limited mileage, extended &#13;
charging times, and the scarcity of charging &#13;
stations persist. Renewable solar energy also &#13;
significantly reduces the carbon footprint of urban &#13;
transportation. The research objective is to &#13;
enhance the driving range of electric vehicles &#13;
using solar power. This project aims to design a &#13;
market-ready solar-powered electric bike using &#13;
flexible solar panels and a foldable, adjustable &#13;
solar panel mount for on-the-go charging. This &#13;
design enables the bike to charge for free when &#13;
parked in the sun, reducing dependence on &#13;
traditional charging stations, waiting time &#13;
reduction and lowering operational costs. &#13;
Calculations, analyses, and various tests are &#13;
conducted based on technical specifications, &#13;
energy consumption requirements, and vehicle &#13;
movement using the proposed method.

<title>Determination of quality characteristics of ‘Nimba Arishta’: a comparative analysis of Sri Lankan brands</title>
<link>http://ir.lib.seu.ac.lk/handle/123456789/7342</link>
<description>Determination of quality characteristics of ‘Nimba Arishta’: a comparative analysis of Sri Lankan brands
Dishani Thakshila, P. W.
Ayurveda is an ancient system of medicine that has &#13;
been used for thousands of years. It comprises a &#13;
variety of medicines, including fermented forms &#13;
such as Arishta (fermented decoctions). The &#13;
therapeutic use of Arishta is determined by the &#13;
properties of its ingredients and the method of &#13;
preparation. Because of the differences in the &#13;
ingredients used and the manufacturing process &#13;
applied &#13;
by different manufacturers, the &#13;
physicochemical characteristics are susceptible to &#13;
various changes. In the present study, different &#13;
brands of Nimba Arishta, mainly made from &#13;
Azadirachta indica (A, B, C, D, E and F) available &#13;
in the market were thoroughly evaluated for their &#13;
physicochemical parameters to establish an &#13;
accepted procedure for standardisation of these &#13;
Ayurvedic formulations. The physicochemical &#13;
parameters such as pH, brix, refractive index, &#13;
specific gravity, total dissolved solids, total ash &#13;
content, acid insoluble ash and water soluble ash &#13;
contents were evaluated. The results of the study &#13;
were found within these ranges; pH 3.01(D) - &#13;
3.64(A), refractive index 1.3725 (A) - 1.4019(C), &#13;
specific gravity 1.0684(A)- 1.0864(F), brix &#13;
25.06(A) - 41.00(C), total dissolved solids (g/mL) &#13;
0.1993(A) - 0.4107(C), total ash content (w/w%) &#13;
0.0971(D) – 0.1070(A), water soluble ash content &#13;
(w/w%)( 0.004(B) - 0.0899(F), acid insoluble ash &#13;
content (w/w%) 0.0131(D) - F-0.0571(F). The &#13;
results showed that the formulation of different &#13;
brands of Nimba Arishta varies, highlighting the &#13;
need for standardisation of Arishta.
