Abstract:
Fish and fish products have presently emerged as the largest group in agricultural
exports of India. With high growth rates, the different facets of marine fisheries, coastal
aquaculture, inland fisheries, freshwater aquaculture, cold water fisheries to food,
health, economy, exports, employment and tourism of the country. In order to enhance
freshwater fisheries, the survival percentage of frys is concentrated in this work.
Rotifers act as feed for newly hatched fish fry’s. In Veindhan Kulam sample station 13
species of rotifers were observed. Of those 7 belong to Brachionus, 2 Keratella, 3
Lecane and 1 Plationus patulus were present. This work identified that the Brachionus
species is more palatable to fish frys. It increased the survival percentage of frys
compared with the formulated feed.
