Abstract

Today, the school education system should provide guidance to the teenage students not only education but also for their way of sexual life. Suitable subjects should be introduced in order to guide students about the values of values which will impact the student’s life in school. Therefore the research titled as “The Essential in sex education for teenage students and the challenges for teachers in its implementation.” Was done for this particular situation. One IAB school, three IC and three type II schools have been selected in Eravurpattu Batticaloa Educational Zone as the sample schools for the survey study. The data collected from the 7 principals, 62 teachers, 207 teenage students, their parents and some probation officers of research area based on the random sampling method and percentage of the elements using the questionnaire survey, interview and observation. From this study we have taken decisions according to the analysis from the data which collected form the elements of persons. There were so many sexual abuses, abortions, child marriages, severe diseases due to unformulated guidance of sexual education in schools. The teachers, schools and government should take some actions according to the problems faced by the teenage students while in curriculum revision priority should be given to sexual education. Further experienced teacher to school or officers in guidance and counselling should be rectuited, guidance to students should be given in clear methods for sexual matters, awareness seminar not only for the students but also their parents and society members too should be organized. If the society and schools apply these solutions, it will be helpful for the teachers, society and the persons related to field in the governmentt.
