Abstract:
Current observational data indicate the possible existence of compact stars composed of deconfined quarks known as strange stars. In this paper, we present two new classes of solutions for a compact star whose interior strange matter composition admits the MIT Bag model equation of state. The solutions are expressed in terms of elementary functions which facilitates its physical applicability. The new solution contains some of the previously obtained solutions including models of charged anisotropic relativistic spheres and isotropic charged star model. The general
class of solutions generated in this paper will, hopefully, contribute to the existing rich class of
solutions to the Einstein-Maxwell system of equations.
