Education is an important tool that is very useful in everybody’s life. School education is very
essential for children in their importance of education. The Schools determine the future of the
students. In Sri Lanka, the urban schools are included under national schools and rural schools are
included under the government or provincial schools. The main objective of this research is to find
out the reason for the movement. This was a qualitative study. The data for this research were
basically gathered by using both primary and secondary data collection techniques. Interview, focus
group discussion, and observation was used as primary data. School records, books, and website data
were used as secondary data. According to the analysis of the data, the study found that N/W/ Tulloes
Tamil Maha Vidyalayam students have been moved towards urban schools due to a lack of teachers,
lack of infrastructure facilities, the dominance of private tutors, schools located in the estate area, lack of
hostel facilities and changing mentality of the students. |
