Abstract:
A smart city is one such promising idea that has been implemented globally with
the purpose of making people's lives easier and more accessible. This has given
rise to the notion of smart cities, in which information communication technology
is integrated with a city's existing conventional infrastructures, which are then
controlled and governed via technology. Smart city concepts involve the use of
ICT enhances the quality of urban life while lowering costs and conserving
resources. The smart city is proposed as the greatest approach for dealing with
the issues posed by rapid urbanization This work looks at the major technologies
that are being employed in the smart city growth of urbanization and explore the
role of enabling technologies in the development. This paper used a systematic
review technique to gather data from previously published studies from reputable
publications, and these data were evaluated independently for each technology
described above. we reviewed major technologies used in smart city
development. From our study, the smart urbanization development, rising
technologies such as the internet of things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI),
Machine Learning(ML) and wearable sensors(WS) are all present. According to
the review, the Internet of Things is mostly used in smart city development. The
results of this study suggested that IoT is the most used technology among other
technologies in smart urbanization development.
