Abstract

Masjids are considered to be the most adorable place of Allah on earth. They are not created for mere worship in the Islamic point of view. Rather than the main purpose is to establish ideal and spiritual society in the world. This study is based on the question of why the Masjids located in Sammanthurai do not contribute enough to the social reconstruction. The main objective of this research is to highlight whether the performance of the Masjids adequately covered on all aspects of the Muslim community, with the satisfaction of the people, and to find out the reasons why the performance of the Masjids in the area of study is not sufficient and providing some precious outline and suggestions. This research uses descriptive analytical method. In order to get the perception of the people on this issue. The data of this research collected through the field and library. As for the primary data researchers prepared a structured questionnaire and selected them from the six mosques in the study area and distributed them to the mahalla residents of each masjid on the basis of 10 questionnaires and obtained the data. And the library method consists of books, research, articles and web articles. In order to obtain accurate scientific results, the qualitative and quantitative methods are used in deducing the questionnaires using MS Excel. The major findings of this study show that although most people in a particular area are satisfied with their work, they are still dissatisfied with certain tasks. The reasons behind this are uneven administration, lack of Professional members in administrative board and lower people’s interest with Masjids. At the end of this study, the researcher concluded by proposing suggestions like embracing Professional members in administrative board of the Masjid, bringing all the organization under the area Masjids. conducting awareness program through Masjid In order to facilitate youths in spiritual and worldliness manner.
