Abstract:
This study discusses the Western linguistic acquisition theories in Islamic perspective and the
contemporary challenges. Accordingly, this study draws on the descriptive approach by
extrapolating and describing the Islamic perspective in linguistic and the Islamic references and
sources. Hence, this study explores the themes on Western linguistic acquisition theories that show
the language system and the way it is taught and learned in the Islamic perspective, such as
structural theory, behavioral theory, cognitive theory, and social theory. Finally, it discusses the
contemporary challenges facing the Arabic language. This study aims to know the Islamic
perspective on Western linguistic acquisition theories, and to know the contemporary challenges
faced by the Arabic language to avoid its negatives and avoid distorting deviations in it.
Consequently, the findings of this study reveal that the Islamic theories are superior to the Western
theories in all fields because Islam presents various theories considering the personality of the
individual and his background for language acquisition. This study also provides solutions to
overcome the contemporary challenges faced by the Arabic language.
