dc.description.abstract Sri Lanka is a nation which consists of a diverse population. Numerous political, social, economic and cultural events of its history have influenced in this diversity. Accordingly it is important to examine the services rendered by different nations to this land in order to build up the Sri Lankan nation which has been built on a great diversity at present. For that purpose this study was conducted using ancient literary text written about history reveals the study of the contribution of Muslims towards the economic sector of Sri Lanka during the Sinhalese rule. Here the research has been done by collecting and referring the written literatures related to history. Accordingly this study depicts that the Muslims have uplifted the domestic trade and manufacturing segment through various fields as well as they have given glory to Sri Lanka by aiding politically during the period of economic difficulties. Furthermore, they have contributed through diplomatic relations, by creating new economic opportunities, by implementing tax policies which raised the state revenue and by developing transportation sectors such as shipping, irrigation and port sectors. Accordingly, this research has been done by collecting data from written historical literatures. Thus it is possible to buildup harmony and unity among the people living Sri Lanka and reminds the society about the hidden history by showing them the sacrifices done by different religious groups for the betterment of the Sri Lankan nation. Also different nationalities can get along with the future of the country by reminding them about the immortal services given to this motherland by the people with their own identity. en_US
