Abstract

Human beings need to help each other. Social welfare activities bring an ending point to the problems of the poor and needy in the society. There are many social welfare activities that bring the kind and benevolence among human beings. At the same time, it is essential that both men and women in the society should involve in these activities. Accordingly, this research explores the role of female Aalimaths in social welfare activities carried out in Maruthamunai region. Thus, this research tries to identify the social involvement of them and to identify the individual, family, social causes of their uninvolvement in social activities. This research uses descriptive methodology through mixed approach by gathering primary and secondary data. It finds that the women in this area have desire in educational activities. At the same time, they have no enough social relations among the society. Thus, they are facing difficulties in engaging the social welfare activities.
