Organisational commitment is considered as a most important element in achieving
organisational goals and objectives. In a wav organizations are Irving to increase the
employees 'performance, because performance typically contributes to the commitment.
Better performance may well lead to a sense of achieving and result in greater
satisfaction and commitment. Thus levels of employee performance and its impact on
organisational commitment are analyzed in the present paper. This study is conducted
among 18 state and private banking organizations in both the districts of Jaffna and
Va\'uniya with the ultimate samples of 250 respondents. An association, in the present
study, between performance and commitment could be observed. The strength of
relationship between performance and organisational commitment in private sector
banks is greater than that in state banks. Further performance has a greater impact on
organisational commitment in both the banks. Recommendations are also given the
organization to make suitable alterations in their performance and commitment. |
