dc.description.abstractGeography’s distinct contribution to the school curriculum is that it teaches students essential knowledge about the world and their own place, contributes to their personal development, equips them with a unique range of specialized skills, develops a specifically geographical way of understanding and examines important questions and issues that are essential for informed citizenship. This study examines the factors influencing the selection of Geography subjects and its results in G.C.E O/L in the Uduvil Education division from 2012-2018. This study has been carried out using the observation interviews and secondary data’s from 2012 to 2018. As a result of this study, it was identified solution to the practical problem found in the selection of Geography subject, reasons for declining its results and teaching learning method in Geography. This study will help to increase the number of selection of Geography subject as a first subject group in G.E.C O/L and create quality Geographers in future.en_US
