Out of 350 families living in the village of the Thethapalai, 150 families were selected and out of them 70 members were selected and interviewed whereas 100 people were analysed based on direct observation, interview and discussion. According to the results, a large number of men are engaged in card game in the village of Thethapolai and women are engaged in the business of giving money or interest to the cardholders. According to the results divorce, debt, theft, suicide, children are the causes for the people’s vulnerabiliy. Issues such as the destructions of property and exclusion in the community have been identified. It has been found that various factors influence their recession even though many measures are taken to minimize the impact of it on families.
