Abstract: Tertiary education is the determinate of political, economic stability and social progress of society in the world today. The main objective of this study is to find out about the status of vocational training and education among youth of the Lunugala Divisional Secretariat. Here, in order to achieve these identifying factors that influence the demand of vocational education in the research area, find out the motivating factors that induce vocational training and education, identifying the challenges of Lunugala area youth to get vocational education, and put forward the suggestion to achieve good education. Here, 122 advanced-level students of the Lunugala area those who failed pass the AL examination in 2018 are taken as a sample size to collect the primary data by providing a questionnaire. This data analysis uses STATA and MS Excel software. The research has taken interest as dependent variable and income, the position of the family, status and member of the family are as independent variable to identifying the factor that influence the demand for vocational education by using logistic method and arithmetic mean method used to find out the motivational factors induce the vocational training and education. The research of this study found a positive relationship between dependent and independent variables, except for the number of family members, and that giving vocational training and education to students would reduce unemployment in this research area. As a result of this research, it is proposed that students become more aware of vocational training and education, and that the government establish vocational training and education centers.
