Abstract: Rameswaram Island is one of the important malaria endemic areas in Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu. The control of malaria remains one of the major global health challenges. It threatens 2.4 billion people, or about 40% of the world‘s population living in the world‘s developing and under developing countries and more than one million deaths are attributable to the disease annually (WHO, 2000).The aim of this study is to determine the situation of the disease and analyse the anti-malarial measure which is provided by the State Government in the study area. The anti-malarial activities are taken up through the Primary Health Centres (PHCs) by the State Health Society, Tamil Nadu. This paper concludes with a discussion of strategies that can be used to overcome of the malaria endemic problems.
