Abstract: Violence against women is one of the major social issues being addressed in the world nowadays. Based on the data recorded in the Kattankudy police division, it is evident that violence against women is increasing every year. Although NGOs and INGOs are taking steps to reduce violence agiants women, it is difficult to reduce them altogether. Therefore this study aims to analyze the reasons for women Discrimination under the Kattankudy Police Division areas. Qualitative and Quantitative method have been used to collect the data for this research. Fourty questionnaires were issued using simple random Sampling method. Six interviews and one focus group discussion were conducted. Findings show that the reasons for the increase in violence agaist women were: increase drugs abuses, family issues, women behavioral changes, lack of knowledge in gender related study, pre age love and etc. Finally this study prescribes some suggestions to government and civil society organizations to reduce women discrimination in society.
