Abstract: Teachers are the ones who bring ignorance out of the darkness into intellectual light. Such teachers should have a wide range of skills and a life-long education. They must update themselves to reach modern changes. Teachers need to be confident in their students. To build that trust amongst the students is the teacher's teaching methods. Therefore Teacher’s teaching methods must be efficienct. Educational technology is the modern content of teaching efficiency. Therefore how a teacher can use teaching technologies to make their teaching efficient is the purpose of this study. This survey study was based on the G.C.E A/L classes of selected schools in the Batticaloa and Batticaloa Central Educational Zones. 20 Principals of selected schools, 225 Teachers who teach classes in G.C.E A/L classes and 350 G.C.E A/L students of all disciplines were the samples selected using Random sampling method. Questionnaires were prepared to collect data from the samples. The collected data were analysed through the SPSS software and expressed in tables and figures. Moreover, the hypothesis possibility has been tested by the chi square test and accordingly the results are described. Results of this study were: usage of educational technologies to enhance the teaching efficiency is low, teaching educational technologies can create a pleasurable learning experience for students, the school community is not fully supportive of teachers who need to use educational technologies in teaching, and teachers face many problems in the use of educational technologies in classroom teaching. Conclusions have been presented at the end of the study.
