Abstract: The prime objective of this study is to identify the Socio Economic Environmental Problems of Coastal Fisheries Society. In this study, various methods were used for data collection- from primary as well as secondary sources. Secondary data were collected from Divisional Secretariat, Fisheries Office Records, previously conducted studies, books, publications, journal articles, reports, census data, internet and other relevant documents. Primary data is collected through questionnaires survey and primary data were also collected from structured interviews with key informants. Through this is study it is found that the fishing society is facing many challenges and problems. There are many Environmental, socio-economic problems identified among the Sainthamaruthu fisheries community. Eventually, this suggestions were given in the light of findinsg. The primary and secondary data were gathered and analyzed and the objectives of the research were achieved, therefore research has been completed successfully.
