Abstract: The workers in the footwear industry are affected by the health related hazards due to the poor maintenance of the working environment all over the world. Health plays a vital role in determining the working ability and productivity. Working environment influences on the health condition of the workers and cause health hazards. Therefore, this study aims to analyze major health hazards occurred in the production process of footwear industry and reasons for that situation. Also this study tries to find how to overcome those kind of problems through the proper solutions. This study is a review of the previous studies about footwear industry related health hazards. The findings shows that the major health hazards are eye related and skin related diseases and it was caused by the dust and glue during the footwear production . Though the industry provides massive amount of employment opportunity to the people, it creates major health problems in the long term which affects the efficiency of the employee. Therefore the production will reduce in long-term.
