Abstract: | The Siddha poems have a distinguished place in the Tamil Literature. These poems distinctively elaborate not only the Siddha medicine but also religion and philosophy, worship, trio of Moorthigal, Nawkkraha Leaders, Liberation of soul etc… The research proceeds towards the poems of Kongana Siddhar and Sivavakkiyar among the eighteen Siddhars. Saivism is categorized in to three as Veera Saivam, Kashimir saivism and Southern Saivism. In 12 A.D in Karnataga Basavar created Veera Saivam and Lingayathe Saivam. Astavaranam is the most prioritized among the things that help for the Mukti of Veera Saivam. That follows as below: Guru, Lingam, Jangama, Padothagam, Pirasatham, Pashmam, Uruthirakkam, and Manthiram. This research investigates the Veera Saiva Ashtavarana traditions by the poems of Kongana siddhar and Sivavakkiyar. The aim of this research is to specify the heritage of Veera Saiva and Ashtavaranam through the poems of Kongana siddhar and Sivavakkiyar poems. Veera Saiva Astavarana traditions is subjected to the matter of research problems. Both Siddhar’s poems also contribute to increase the prominence of Veera Saiva Ashtavarana tradition as a remarkable key note point. The poems of Kongana siddhar and Sivavakkiyar are primary data whereas essay, articles and magazines are used as Secondary data of this research. Thus it is evident that Veera Saiva Ashtavarana traditions were reflected in the poems of the above siddhars. |
