Abstract: Language impacts the daily lives of memories of a race, creed and region of the world. Language helps, express our feelings, desires and queries. To the world around us. There are 7102 languages around the world. In these languages some of them are official language in their country. According to this, in our country Sinhala is the national language. The primary objective of the study is finding problems among student’s usage Sinhala language. The sample of the study based on faculty of Islamic studies and Arabic language, south eastern university of Sri Lanka. The data was collected from primary sources such as interview, questionnaires and observation with the secondary sources such as researches. The finding of the study is that, most of the students are poor in Sinhala language. Because they haven’t got the suitable environment another reason was that they had no relationship with other communities. The outcome of study will help to improve Sinhala language in this faculty.
