Abstract: | The Eastern part of the Island of Sri Lanka is gaining religious and cultural significance.This research paper entitled "Influence of Advaita Vedanta Thoughts on Eastern Sri Lanka" is of great importance as research efforts are being made on various aspects of Hindu beliefs, arts and social practices in the area. The Eastern Province is the study area, with literary sources defining the scope of the study as "Kaludevalaya Inscription", "Suruthimurai Nool" and identification of Swami Vipulananda among thinkers. The purpose of the research paper is to uncover the Vedic traditions that existed in the Batticaloa region of eastern Sri Lanka, the influence of Advaita Vedanta thought and the formation of Swami Vipulananda as a continuation of such thoughts. At the same time, the problems identified in the study were the study of Advaita thought in the Eastern region, and the philosophical ideas in the books "Kaludevalaya Inscription" and "Suruthimurai Nool" were not studied in depth. Is Swami Vipulananda a continuation of these thoughts? Studies that are not carried out. Considering the integration of Advaita Vedanta thought in the culture of the Hindu people of Eastern Sri Lanka and its recent identity as Swami Vipulanandar, Swami Vipulanandar reflects on the influence and continuity of Advaita Vedanta thought in Eastern Sri Lanka by reviewing relevant texts using relevant research methods through the first secondary data, this research article is being set up. |
